Barbara Lorraine Paul

Barbara Lorraine (Allen) (Dreessen) Paul, 80, of DeSoto, KS, Kansas City, MO and Marshalltown, IA, passed away September 20, 2016 surrounded by her family.

She was born August 28, 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Rama (Verd) Kuhleman and Roy (Margaret) Allen. Barb married Roger Dreessen of Gladbrook, Iowa in 1954 and lived in Marshalltown where they raised their three daughters, Tracy, Sherri and Marcy.

Barb loved her daughter’s activities and was very active in the Marshalltown community, Jaycee-ettes, PTA and Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Central Christian Church. She was a dedicated friend and truly enjoyed your cards, phone calls and visits. She worked at the TV Lab and at Arbie Feeds; and then moved to Des Moines to Iowa State Bank. Barb then worked at the Marshalltown Community Area Clinic before moving to Kansas City, in 1999. In 2006 she married Robert E. Paul of Marshalltown, her high school classmate.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Sherri Dreessen Watson (Bryan) of Olathe, KS.; grandson Eric and twin granddaughters, Sara and Anna; daughter, Marcy Dreessen McAdams (Harold) of Belton, MO. Grandaughter Chloe Vaughn (Jason) and great-granddaughters, Peyton and Emily of Ash Grove, MO, and daughter Tracy Dreessen Dalton (Randy). And stepchildren Vickie Paul, Laurie Merris (Lindle), Mark Paul and Kenneth Paul, and their children and grandchildren.

Following her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be a graveside ceremony held at Timber Creek Cemetery on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:00am. The family will be at Tremont on Main restaurant (22 W Main Street) following this ceremony to welcome friends.
