Ben Recob, Sr.

Ben Recob, Sr., 50, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 29, 2020. A  memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Missouri.

Mr. Recob was born on June 9, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri to Darrell Eugene Recob, Sr. and Charlina Raye Gannaway Recob.

Benny was a very complicated individual. He always gave off goofy and cool vibes. But when you really got to know him he was one of the most caring people you would ever want to know. He loved playing and watching golf, fishing and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He always prioritized his kids over anything else, and even though he would never admit it, the family cat, Jenny. But above all, his most prized possession would be his third child, diet Sunkist.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Recob, Sr., grandparents, Katherine Recob, and Warren and Peggy Gannaway; stepmother, Janet Recob; and brother, Darrell Recob, Jr.

Following in his footsteps, his son Benjamin Warren Recob, Jr.; daughter, Amber Lee Recob; mother, Charlina Raye Recob; mother of his children, Becky Lee Recob; sister in law, Sherry Ray Recob; aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Don Delashmit; sister, Sarah Recob; brother, Matt Recob; his best friend, Jenny the cat; as well as many loved ones.

I went to Raytown High School with Benny. He was always the jokester and prankster, made me laugh, which helped the time go by quicker. A few years ago, I thought about him, looked up his address and sent him a Christmas card. We talked for awhile on the phone about back in the day and he told me that he was retired due to health issues. I’m very sorry to find that he had passed away. May you rest in eternal peace my friend. Robert Leslie.
