Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Betty Jacqueline (Jacki) Skidmore, departed this life on April 4, 2018.
She was born February 13, 1941 in Elizabeth, Arkansas to Hayden Doyle Skidmore and Mary Louise Ware Skidmore.
Betty loved good food, cookbooks, movies, computer games, gardening and fishing. She never knew a stranger and had the gift to gab. She either liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white. If you wronged her, she never forgot. She had a strong sense of right and wrong and a great sense of humor.
Survivors include: one sister, Linda Leonard; two sons, David Pierson and Dennis Pierson; and two daughters, Linda Conroy and Lori (Earl) Scheidt. Her greatest treasures called her “Meme,” grandchildren; Jacki (Nathan) Borgmeyer, Stacy Pierson, Madison Pierson, Cody Pierson, Samantha Pierson and Preston Scheidt; great-grandchildren, Alexa Rose (Lexi) and Cora Lynn Borgmeyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Gladys Skidmore, son, Larry Pierson and beloved dogs Bambi and Phoebe.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. As a child, her dad’s job in the oil industry caused them to move frequently. This contributed to her love of the open road.
The family takes comfort that they were with her in her final hours, she is no longer in pain and is now reunited with her dad and son, whom she missed and loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in California. Pastor Evandro Kopper will officiate.
Family will greet friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 9 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family.
