Betty Jean Potter Messbarger, 91, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away August 13, 2021. Betty was born October 15, 1929. Betty was such a strong and amazing woman. She raised 7 children and helped nurture several grandchildren. In her early 40’s she went back to school and landed a job as a medical records specialist. She worked at Trinity Lutheran Hospital and St. Luke’s North Kansas City. Betty had many passions in her life but her favorite was genealogy. She was our family’s personal genealogist. She dedicated 44 years of her life to this wonderful hobby and found many interesting things about her family’s lineage, including her descendants from the early 1800’s.

She is survived by Sister; Lola Mae Hacket, Son; Darrell Darwin Messbarger (Kathy), Jon Patrick Messbarger, David Terry Messbarger (Terry), Daughter; Debra Jean Murrah (Johnathon Seals), Son; James Christopher Messbarger, Daughter; Tracie Lynn Messbarger Burrow (Bradley E.
