Billie J. Champlain-Ryle

Billie J. Champlain-Ryle, 95, of Kansas City, Missouri, departed this life on August 27, 2025.

Billie was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor.  She was a devoted member of the Woods Chapel Church in Lees’ Summit, Missouri and a woman of faith. She was known for her radiant smile, welcoming heart, and her devotion to family, friends, neighbors, and community.  

Billie loved people.  She loved sitting around a table with loved ones and friends to catch up. She liked water aerobics, sewing, volunteering, leading in clubs and service-organizations, traveling, attending family events, and hosting meals.

Billie J. Champlain-Ryle is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Jack) Thomas; and her son William (Vickie) Champlain. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeannette (Chris), Ben (Kim), John (Mindy), Beth, Josh (Alicia), Brandy (Colby), Kevin (Caitlin), Andrew (Virginia), Lexi (Kody), and Aaron (Christine);  twenty great-grandchildren Blake, Kelsey, Keylea, Garrett, Katelynn, Lilly, Maggie, Leah, Megan, Paden, Collin, Wyatt, Abby, Jack, Brooke, Noralee, Eva, Berkley, Finley, and Ruby.  Billie is further survived by her siblings Pat, Bob, Sara, Ronnie, and John.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roby and Effie Hanks; her husbands, Vernard Champlain and John Ryle; son, Richard Champlain; and her sisters Edna and Linda.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, at 9am with funeral service following at 10am at Woods Chapel Church, Lee’s Sumit, MO. Burial will be at a later date.  All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to International Missions or charity of your choice in Billie’s honor.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
