Byron D. Banks

Byron Derrick Banks, 64, Kansas City, Missouri passed away August 29, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Missouri 64133. A visitation will precede the service and begin at 10:00 AM.

The life of Byron Derrick Banks began on November 3, 1956. He was the fifth child of eleven to Willie and Callie Banks of Kansas City, Missouri. He lived and worked in Kansas City his entire life. He attended private catholic and public schools while growing up, graduating from Southeast High School in 1975. He went on to receive an Associates Degree from The University of Missouri Kansas City. He retired from 30 years of dedicated service with the Kansas City Convention Center on November 30, 2011. Byron was a man of great faith and had a firm believe in God. He was a longstanding member of Redemptorist Catholic Church. Family was most important to him. He will be greatly missed by many. His warm smile and infectious laugh was precious. He never met a stranger.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Callie Banks, a brother Damon, and sisters; Phyllis, Toni and Myrna.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories; a loving wife Sharon Banks of Kansas City, Missouri, 2 stepdaughters and a stepson of Kansas City, Missouri, five brothers; Reginald, Ronald, Kelvin, Vincent and Darrell Banks, a sister Collette Banks, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
