Casandra Renee Lucas, aka Casey, age 32, of Calwood passed away on November 3rd, 2021 at University Hospital in Columbia. She was surrounded by many loved ones.
Casey was employed as the main receptionist at Joe Machens Chrysler and Jeep, previously of Lenoir Woods. Casey was an amazing person. She was a social butterfly and loved people. She loved her family deeply and never knew a stranger. Casey had a heart of gold and would help any person as much as possible. She was the most selfless person you could ever meet. If anyone needed anything at any time, she was there for you no questions asked. She was an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews, always wanting to spoil them as much as she could. Her main joy in this world was her son, Skyler and her two puppies, Posh and Carmen Ray. She was an amazing and devoted mother. Casey loved taking pictures, laughing as much as possible, and the color pink. She enjoyed singing to country and hip-hop music, especially Usher.
Casey was a devout Christian and loved Jesus. Her faith in Jesus was very strong. She is in heaven with her nephew, Malachi, who she called dolfish. They were kindred spirits and absolutely reunited in Heaven watching over us all. Casey will be loved and dearly missed by her family and everyone she knew.
She is survived by her son, Skyler Lucas; her parents, Rich and Joyce Gathright of Calwood; her sister, Jessica Savedra of Denver, Colorado; brother, Josh Gathright and wife Danielle of Auxvasse; love of her life, Chris Lucas, of Kansas City, Missouri and grandparents, Larry and Nancy Durlin of Auxvasse; grandfather, Don Gathright of St. Peters and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by nephew Malachi Tyler, grandmother Judy Gathright, grandmother Sharon Whipperman, and uncle Todd Durlin. She will be greatly missed.
Casandra is a hero to so many as she was an organ donor after passing.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 8th, 2021 at 5pm. Service to be held at the Auxvasse Community Center, located at 702 S. Main Street in Auxvasse, Missouri. All who knew Casandra are encouraged to come to celebrate her life. Flowers may be sent directly to Auxvasse Community Center on Monday afternoon. Memorial Contributions may be sent or made to United Security Bank of Auxvasse in Skyler Lucas’s name. If unable to attend services, feel free to leave a message on Heartland’s webpage to share a story of Casey with her family.
The world lost a beautiful soul however, heaven gained one. Casey will be missed dearly. Sending my love and hugs.

My sister! I will miss our texts sharing our boys milestones together. You truly were the sweetest person I’ve ever known. Thank you so very much for sharing your precious gift Skylar with our Lucas family. Every picture, every phone call, every trip we made together now plays on repeat in my memories. “Mom” as you ALWAYS called her, aka Chris’s mom and Skylers grandma in Colorado is extremely grateful to have had such an honor of knowing and loving her. Forever in our hearts. We love you Skyler and promise to continue loving you
Love you sis! Sherina Jackson
