Charles William Glatz, Jr., affectionately known as “Butch,” passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 16, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of Charles Glatz, Sr. and Margaret (Lally) Glatz.
Charles was a proud graduate of Hogan High School, class of 1965. He faithfully served his country as a Field Wireman in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Vietnam in support of the war. Following his honorable discharge, he devoted his professional career to the insulation industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Margaret, and his sister, Sandra (Glatz) Brenneman.
Charles is survived by his brother, Richard “Rick” Glatz; his children, Lisa Robbinson (Glatz) and Michael Glatz; his grandchildren, Amanda Robbinson, Jessica Robbinson, Emily Robbinson, Camryn Robbinson, and Amaya Glatz; and his great-grandson, Callum Vincent.
In his younger years, Charles enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and fishing. Later in life, he could often be found out on local golf courses or trying his luck at the slots. He was a devoted fan of Kansas City sports, always cheering on his beloved Royals and Chiefs.
Above all, Charles treasured his family. He will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and love, which will live on through the memories of those who knew him best.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2025 at Tanner’s, 11134 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.
