Clel Alan Hall, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on September 8, 2025 after a year-long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12th at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorthea and Clel J. Hall. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah Kays Hall; daughters Christine Nicole Sirridge (Charlie Sirridge) and Stephanie Marie Hall, son Matthew Alan Hall (Anjali Lamba); and grandsons James (8), Jack (6) and Joshua Sirridge (4). He is also survived by two siblings, Nancy Clark and Bob Hall.
Clel was born on July 27, 1949 in Kansas City. He attended Blenheim grade school, Raytown South High School, and UMKC Business School. In High School he was voted Student Council president and was a member of the National Honors Society. He was also voted Most Likely to Succeed. Putting his intellect and people-skills to work in the laboratory industry while still in Business School at UMKC, he catapulted into the oil & gas industry shortly thereafter with Atlantic Richfield, thriving in sales for over a decade. He had an entrepreneurial spirit which guided him to his real passion, a decades-long career in the real estate industry. He was a beloved real estate agent with Brookside Realty, became an expert in the mortgage business with Re-Max, was a landlord to multiple of his own rental properties, was surprisingly handy around the house, and was an invaluable advisor to countless friends and family. He was truly invested in helping those around him save money and to enjoy their dream homes to the fullest.
Though all were drawn to Clel’s wit, athleticism, and charm – none were more head over heels than the love of his life, Deb, ever since their meeting at the bus stop at age 13. From then their adventures in life together would evolve from family dinners into Royals games, ski trips, and later into flipping houses. Clel’s passion for real estate landed them in their Brookside home on Jefferson Street – the house they would call home for the next 44 years. The porch swing at 6425 has hosted hundreds of kids, neighbors, friends and family during their time there together. Deb and Clel were married 1981 in a grand wedding in the Loose Park Rose Garden. Shortly thereafter they had 3 children (and later grandchildren) who many say are the blondest the Brookside area has ever seen. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his kids, who were lucky enough to join him on adventures over the years in Italy, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, to name a few.
Anyone who knew Clel has benefitted from his love and encyclopedic knowledge of music. His love of music was only matched by his love of, and special bond with, animals. He had an incredibly special bond with all animals – but dogs in particular. The Hall home never closed its door to any animal in need. He was one of the most loyal Royals fans in town, and it’s hard not to think that his fanhood played a role in the 4 World Series appearances and two Championships he witnessed with his family during his lifetime. He never met a stranger in his life – he knew grocery clerks by name, was always quick with a joke, and as was his biggest honor later in life, “Papa” eagerly attended every sporting event he was able to for James, Jack, and Joshua, and happily shared with them the best homemade beef stew in town. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Wayside Waifs, KC Pet Project, or St. Elizabeth’s Building our Legacy Campaign.
So sad to lose Clel. He was the best so enjoyed all the dogs he helped. The best neighbor. I will miss him so much.
Sorry for your loss, our condolences to the entire family. May God give you all strength and comfort in this difficult time.
Heartfelt condolences to Hall family and friends. May he Rest in Peace 🙏🏽
Luther has been waiting a long time to see you again. That was his dog when he was living at home in Raytown. The poker games, cookouts in Swope Park, the pool parties at 4812, all the basketball games watching Bobby play at Raytown South and taking you on your first float trip on the Black River. I have many found memories of our times together and I thank you and Debbie for sharing those moments with me. Gods speed…
Mrs. Hall, Stephanie and family please know of my prayers + + +
My partner in one of the funniest pranks ever played.
Love that guy, had and enjoyed a lot of good times. We lived close in Brookside and would do laundry together at the laundry mat. Played a lot of cards with the Raytown boys and solved a lot of world problems just visiting. RIP CLEL…you will be missed by a lot of people and a lot of family…your pal Fater
Dear Deborah we’re very sorry for your loss. A big hug from Reinaldo and Ana Gonzalez.
A wonderful man and friend. So sorry we lost track of each other and didn’t get to spend as much time together as I would have hoped. Clel worked for my dad, Jiggs James , and as hard to admit as it is, I think Dad liked Clel more than me. A wonderful character who left us far too early.
Deb, I was shocked to read this today. I am so happy that Clel and I had a phone conversation a few days after his birthday. He was my classmate and my friend. I am honored to call him friend. I send you and the family my deepest condolences and sympathies. I will miss Clel deeply.
Our sincere condolences to the entire family. Praying to God to give strength to all of you to bear this loss and Peace to the Departed soul. 🙏
To the Hall Family.
My deepest sympathy for all of you at this time. Clel was a great man and he will be missed.
Dear Deb & Family, God bless you as you mourn the loss of an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. The memories recounted in his obituary are beautiful. May you find comfort in these and many more moments every day. I fondly remember the times we’ve shared in the past. My best to all of you. Love, Leslie & Bob Krehnbrink

So sorry for the Hall family loss. Really regret that we lost contact over the years. Remember our times roaming the Plaza together.
Deb & family,
I am so sorry for your loss but thankful for your beautiful memories. Blessings to each of you.
He will be missed. Rest in peace, brother in Christ.
Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. Its been many years since we were all together, but I have such fond memories of our group in high school, even though I had to stay at Raytown when South was built. I have no doubt Clel will be missed. Until we meet again.
