David Kelly McDowell
April 15, 1953 – July 5, 2024
Dave McDowell, 71, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on July 5, 2024. Dave was born on April 15, 1953 in Independence, MO. He was the middle of three children born to Jack and Betty (East) McDowell. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1971, UMKC in 1975 with a Bachelors of Business Administration, and later received an MBA from Baker University. Dave was an avid reader, bowler, pool player, and competitive game player. Also known as Hamburger Dave, he spent most of his life in Blue Springs where he owned a HiBoy in the earlier years and was a member of the Jaycees. He also worked installing movie projectors across the country and finally worked and retired from ATK Lake City Ammunition. He has always enjoyed hanging out with friends at local restaurants and bars, especially Dirty Harry’s.
He is survived by his three daughters Andi Wall (Nate); Caylin Conder (Cale); Tierney Brand (Matt), four grandchildren Steel and Maclin Brand; Leon and Fiona Wall, two siblings Ken McDowell and Lisa Umstattd (Tod) and their families, his aunt Elsie McDowell, beloved first cousins, nieces, nephews and many more family members.
Dave is preceded in death by his amazing parents, great aunt Bess Hall (Ed), uncles Ed McDowell and James East (Anita), aunts Virgina Fowler (Irvin), Kay Reinhardt (Ollie) and Shirley French (Rex), cousins Gary McDowell and Madeline McDowell.
A celebration of life will be held from 4pm-6pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133.

My husband and are long time friends of the McDowell family. Dave was an easy going, pleasant man. Any time we saw him he greeted us with that soft spoken smile, He was also a hard working guy. God bless his family as they miss and remember him.
