Delma Mae (McMurry) Larabee Rounds

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Delma Mae (McMurry) Larabee Rounds, on January 19, 2026.

Delma was born August 29, 1940, to Ruth A. (Humphreys) and Carl D. McMurry. She grew up on a farm in Colony, Missouri, alongside her four sisters and one brother. From a young age, she learned the value of hard work and family, often accompanying her father into the fields — an experience she truly enjoyed and one that shaped her throughout her life.

On July 19, 1958, Delma married Tom Larabee. Together, they built not only a family, but also a business. Delma worked at Sears before she and Tom opened Larabee Plumbing, where she played an important role while balancing work and family life. Above all else, Delma cherished her family. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If any of them ever needed help, guidance, or support, she was always the first to step in without hesitation. Her love was steady, generous, and unconditional.

Six years after Tom’s passing, Delma found companionship and love again. On April 18, 2015, she married Robert “Bob” Rounds. Through this marriage, her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ deepened, nurtured by the love, companionship, and support they shared. Delma treasured her life with Bob, especially the simple joys of spending time outdoors together planting flowers and enjoying time with his family. In the final two days of her life, Delma gently shared the love of the Lord with those around her. With peace in her heart, she was ready for her next journey — Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Larabee; son Carl Larabee; daughter Lynda Moore; sisters Peggy Lue McMurry, and Maureen Alice Brady; brother Delmar McMurry; and daughter-in-law Lisa (Walker) Larabee.

Delma is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Rounds; her children Richard Larabee, James Larabee, Rose (Larabee) Gregory and husband Craig; grandchildren Christopher Bittle, Chad Bittle and partner Marcus, Eric Larabee, Michelle Turner and husband Roman, Craig Gregory Jr., and wife Brooke, Thomas Gregory and Emily; great grandchildren Ayden Gregory, Francis Filipi, Adelyn Gregory, Londyn Gregory and Lucy Gregory; and sisters Lois Louise Killian and Pauline Carl Lant.

Delma passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion to family, and a life rooted in care for others. She was a woman of quiet strength whose kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, an incredible mother, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and a woman whose faith and kindness touched many lives.

Visitation will be from 10am, followed by a funeral at 11am, Friday, January 30, 2026, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133. There will be a family burial held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

To Delma’s family: My deep condolences. My brother Bob was so blessed to have had Delma as his wife. She was a delightful person–kind, warm, gentle, genuine, spunky, selfless, joyful. I especially valued her deep appreciation for and love of all children, whether they were strangers or known to her. Be comforted in knowing that she touched many lives and hearts with her goodness.
