Edward O. Barry, Jr.

January 18th, 2021 the Barry family lost its most beloved goofball, to cancer.

Edward Oliver Barry Jr. was born November 3rd, 1963 to Fay and Edward Barry Sr. The tall, lanky kid lovingly referred to as EJ, grew up in a blended family with three adoring sisters, and three ornery brothers who loved to challenge each other in any way they could.

Early on, EJ took a special interest in world history and geography. Life happens to the best of us though, and EJ managed to take a few extra long stints of “vacations.”

While away, EJ was able to become thoroughly educated in the topics he was interested in, even pursuing and recieving a degree in Education and Diesel Mechanics. EJ also learned different crafts to pass the time, becoming skilled at crocheting; regularly sending home blankets and hats he made for the family. When he finally came home in August of 2016, EJ had a whole new outlook on life and appreciation of family and friends awaiting his return.

The last four and a half years, EJ managed to win over everyone he encountered with his child like playfulness, sharp sense of humor, and overall compassionate personality. EJ was such a loving son, brother, uncle and great-uncle; never hesitating on being there for his family.

Weeks before he passed, EJ accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. EJ has passed on to now be with his father Eddy, brother Kevin and sister Carri. He is survived by his mother Fay, second mother Darlene, sisters Dawn and Tina, sister-in-law and younger brother/best friend Michael. Not to mention the countless nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

He will be truly missed.

We love you, EJ.

I remember the fun times as kids, and as time traveled we always had good times when we’d see each other, no matter how long the time had passed. EJ you will be missed. May you rest now in the arms of Jesus….???!! I’m so glad I took the time to come see you!! Prayers for the family.
