Eleanor Bernadine DiRe will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and her love of laughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry L. DiRe.
Eleanor is survived by her four children: Henri Etta DiRe (Steve Gregory, spouse), Elizabeth Mullins (Ed Mullins, spouse) Ericka DiRe and Sam DiRe (Yvette DiRe, spouse), grandmother of Brandon Locke, Derek Mullins (Chelsea), Hank DIRe and Charlie DiRe and great grandmother of Lindley Mullins.
Eleanor met Henry in college while attending the University of Montana. They lived in many places during their long and happy marriage including New York, Idaho, Montana, Maryland, Missouri and Tennessee.
Eleanor’s parents were immigrants from Norway and Sweden who settled in an eastern Montana farming community. She had six older brothers who helped raise her after the early deaths of her parents, Sam and Erikka.
Her fondest memory of the farm was the red geraniums that her mom grew in planters around the screened in porch. She was also fond of the farm animals. She liked to talk about Rex, a stray dog she would sneak into the house when Pa was out doing chores. And the horse named Peanuts she and her brothers Bob and Sam rode to their one-room schoolhouse.
Eleanor had many interests, but family was her primary focus in life. She will be greatly missed. Praise God for her 93 years full of His blessings.
