Elmer Leroy Moore Sr. (Jack)

Elmer Leroy Moore Sr. (Jack), age 86, passed away at home on Friday August 4, 2023 surrounded by family. Born in Topeka KS on June 25, 1937, he was the youngest son of six children born to Edger and Viola Moore.

The most important part of Jack’s life was his family. He loved to spend time with his family, going fishing (rain or shine), camping, bowling, and watching movies (westerns, drive-in). He was a simple man, known for his wit and humor. He always enjoyed joking and wrestling with anyone that was lucky to get near him. He loved to read and do crossword puzzles. He enjoyed drinking Pepsi (warm in a plastic bottle), eating cookies and Hershey’s chocolate bars.

He was very proud of serving in several branches of the military, Army, Air Force and National Guards (Air Force was his favorite). Enlisting in 1955 and honorably discharged in 1985. He loved talking about his adventures, like riding in fighter jets, the gun range and his deployment in France on the French Riviera.

Jack is survived by his wife Marilyn Moore of 47 years, children Cheri Kimmi (Nevada), Melissa Cooper (Harrisonville MO), Ann Hernandez and husband Gregory (Raytown MO), Constance Sills (Freeman MO), Brother In-laws Warren Denham and Robert Denham wife Claudia, Twenty-four Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
