Elonda Decole Brown

Elonda Decole Brown left this world on July 28, 2022, at the age of 48 with her family by her side at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday August 10, 2022 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO 64133. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am. Elonda was born on May 19, 1974, in Kansas City Mo to Carol Brown. John Rowden (Father) walked into Elonda’s life when she was 3 months old. Elonda graduated from Northeast High School in 1992.

Elonda was a very sweet, humble, but proud person. She never asked for anything, she would rather do without than ask for a handout. On the other hand, she would give you the shirt off her back. Elonda was lovable always laughing, but don’t get on her nerves or try to bully her because she will give you a piece of her mind. Elonda enjoyed her solace, she would prefer to sit at home than be around a lot of people, so consider it a privilege when she allows you into her world.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Mable and Rudolph Brown; aunt, Michelle Brown; and uncle, Michael Brown.

Elonda leaves to mourn the passing of her mother, Carol Brown; father, John Rowden(Terri); two sisters, Roshelle White (Johnny White)and Tamekia Brown; two sons, Phillip Cothran Jr, and Derius Brown; and a bundle of grandkids: Eliyah, La’Vonna, Derrius Jr, De”Von Davizzino,Davorion; aunts and uncles, Linda Williams, Gloria Mondaine, Patricia Williams(Paul), Maureen Rivers (Floyd), Kenneth Brown (Karen), Gregory Brown (Belinda), Christopher Brown (Debbie), and Timothy Brown (Cheryl); nieces and nephew, Ariana Slader (DJ), Ronald White, and Jayonna Still; several cousins, and a host of friends.

We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.

I have been trying to put words together for my Sister/friend but it’s tough. I try to put worlds together that described our friendship. From DST to GSA to the IRS she was my sister. I will remember our good times and our bad. How we would go out to have fun and how you would hang out with my family. My sisters called you Sister and I would be like tell them you my SISTER. I Love you dear friend go and claim your Mansion.

My deepest condolences to the family. I had the privilege of being in Londa’s presence for five years at the IRS. We grew to be friends and we both enjoyed eating, talking about our families and gaining wisdom from each other. I will truly miss her. She was real and down to earth, a very rare find in today’s world. I’m glad you no longer have to suffer nor worry about the cares of this world. Now you are at peace. Goodbye my friend.

On behalf of the Allen Family…Carol, Linda and Elonda’s entire family, you guys are family and our hearts are broken over her passing. We grew up together and over the years “E” and my sister’s bond was unbreakable. Elonda had away of making you smile no matter what the situation. She was a joy to be around, always willing to help and I’ll never forget her famous quotes. If she started with “baby girl” you knew what was coming next. We’re going to miss her but thank God for the times we had. May God continue to bless you all and keep you until you meet again. Our deepest sympathy and everlasting love. Renee Mosby “Nay Nay” on behalf of Charlotte Larry and Shonda Mason.

To the family of Elonda Brown:

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Elonda. I know that God chose this time for Elonda to join Him, but that does not make this any easier because Elonda will be truly missed.

In this unhappy hour, I am reminded of the book of John, which states “Truly, I say to you! He who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” These words offered comfort to Elonda, as I hope they will bring comfort to your family and others as well.

We must console ourselves with the knowledge that Elonda is walking with our Lord. As for us, now more than ever, know that you are always in my prayers.

    With love,

    O’Dell Anderson
