Evelyn “Evie” Lippert, 91, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, born in Lisbon Falls, Maine on December 16th, 1931, passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. Evie married Roland “Rollie” on July 10th, 1954. Together they raised five children and had many adventures living throughout the Midwest. In retirement, Evie and Rollie loved traveling, particularly to south Florida and Arizona, enjoying the long warm winters and playing lots of golf. Traveling back to the southern coast of Maine was a family favorite trip.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rollie; brother Andrew and sister Veronica. She leaves behind five children: son Lou and wife Karen; daughter Marianne and husband Ken; son Andy and wife Michelle; son Anthony; and daughter Julianne and husband Brian, along with eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
Evie loved playing golf, quilting, volunteering, and flowers. She also enjoyed going shopping and playing cards and dominos with her friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Presentation Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice.
My Deepest Condolences to the Family. What an honor to know this wonderful lady and friend. Evelyn volunteered with my wife and me at St. Lukes East for many years. She was also our good friend while living at John Knox Village. Evelyn will certainly be missed by many.
To the family and friends of Miss Evelyn. I had the pleasure of knowing her only in the last year or 2 at John Knox Village. I met her playing Bingo with her other friends. I found her sense of humor so attractive. When she started to decline, I would call her or stop by the see why we missed her some nights.
I particularly enjoyed a moment in her apartment when I got to sing her a blessing from Numbers 6:24-26.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
It was the last gift I got to give her. I will remember the laughs and gifts of love she shared with me for a long time. I am better for having known her. She charmed me with her stories. I’m so sorry for your loss. I grieve with you.
