Everett “Gene” Dillon

Everett Eugene “Gene” Dillon, 52, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away on July 3, 2007, after an extended illness. The son of Evelyn and Raymond Dillon, Gene was born on August 26, 1954, served four years in the United States Marine Corps and worked for 20 years at Sprint as a supervisor in the mail services department. Gene enjoyed playing in men’s softball leagues, watching NASCAR, cheering for Jayhawks basketball, and working on a business degree, which he was only one course short of completing at the time of his death. Survivors include his beloved mother, Evelyn; loving wife of 17 years, Holly; children Cayli, Jordan, Tyler, Brian, and Amber; siblings Bill and Brenda; and a host of other relatives, colleagues, and friends. A memorial service for Gene will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007, at Woods Chapel Church of God, 1150 NE Woods Chapel Road, Lee’s Summit, Mo. The family requests no flowers. All donations will be sent to scleroderma research.
