Genevieve A. Fisher, formerly of Tulsa, OK passed away on March 15th, 2022, at her home in Raytown, MO with her husband by her side. She was born on December 26th, 1940, in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Bishop McGinnis Highschool in 1958. Genevieve met Ronald Fisher at a dance in 1959 and married in 1961 at Our Lady’s Cathedral church in Oklahoma City. They shortly moved to Tulsa, OK and bought the house on 31st street. They were blessed with one daughter, Debbie. Genevieve was a stay-at-home mom and was the neighborhood, Mom. In 1977 she started working at US Instrument Rentals, and then was part owner at GAW Electronics where she worked as the Office Manager. She retired from working for Ron Fisher & Associates. Genevieve loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was very crafty with sewing, knitting, painting, floral arrangements, and decorating. She was known for wearing her beautiful jewelry. She adopted several of Debbie’s friends as her own, namely, Jeannette Atkinson-Harris and Amy Raines. She loved to go shopping with the girls. Genevieve was longtime members of St. Pius X church in Tulsa, OK. In 2018, she and Ron moved to Raytown, MO to be close to her family. Genevieve always loved little dogs. Her little Shih Tzu, Jacy was always by her side. Genevieve passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jessie Babiak, sister, Dorothy Babiak, sister, Rosemary Eason, brother-in-law Kenneth Eason, niece, Denise Eason and Godson, Steve Bourland.She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ronald Fisher, daughter Debbie and her husband Mark Neyhard of Lee’s Summit, MO. One grandchild, Emily Neyhard of Oshkosh, WI and nieces and nephews, Marty and Mike Bourland of Yukon, OK, Kenny and Jeanette Eason of Bethany, OK, David and Nita Eason of Blue Eye, MO and Jeff and Connie Eason of Topeka, KS.
A mass will be held at St. Pius X church, 1727 S. 75th E. Ave., Tulsa, OK 74112 on April 23rd at 1:00 PM. After the service, a celebration of Gen’s life will be hosted by good friends, Ken and Linda Hess.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Midwest Animal Rescue (MARQ). Special thanks to Karen, Cheyanne and Rindy from Missouri Palliative and Hospice care.
