Helen Teresa “Terry” Shepherd

Helen Teresa Terry Shepherd née Ransom

Born February 8, 1951, in Dallas Texas, Terry moved with her family to Merriam, Kansas

and lived in Overland Park attending Shawnee Mission Schools until graduating high

school at Shawnee Mission West in 1969. She married her high school sweetheart,

Bruce Shepherd, in 1969.

Terry died peacefully and in her sleep April 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her

husband, Bruce Allen Shepherd and her mother and father, Mary Ellen and Randy

Ransom. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Shepherd Keck of Independence,

grandsons Lane Homfeld and Cole Homfeld, son in law Larry Keck, sister Jeanne

Fletcher, brothers Doug Ransom and John Ransom.

Terry was a loving and caring person with a wicked sense of humor and a great

memory for life’s details. She liked to laugh and play practical jokes. Making delicious

meals for her family, friends and neighbors was a frequent occurrence. We will miss

her dearly.

The family will celebrate Terry’s life with a private memorial gathering.
