Tanya and Russ, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember your dad’s smile, his warm personality, and his fun sense of humor. May your fond memories of both of your parents bring you comfort.
Dear Tanya and Russ,
I was so saddened to read in the paper about Jim’s passing. I was a client of Jim’s for maybe fifteen years, and saw him every year at tax time. This time he sent the prep materials but then I couldn’t get in touch with him, so I was worried.
Jim was so kind and fun to work with. I followed him through a number of office spaces, and I always appreciated getting to spend a bit of time with him. In 2019, I had had a retinal surgery and couldn’t drive, so I took an Uber to Jim’s house, where his office was that year. I complained a little about how expensive the Uber ride was, and Jim insisted on driving me home himself! I’ll never work with an accountant like that again. And I will remember Jim for his smile and careful work.

Tanya and Russ
Jim was my only accountant for the entire time I was in business, 37 years.
We had conversations of a private nature and helped each other thru difficult times.
He really cared about his clients. And I stuck with him thru thick and thin because I cared about him. I’ll miss him.
Despite troubles of his own he always seemed to have a smile and positive attitude.
God Bless.
Beginning as freshmen in a brand-new building in the Fall of 1953 and continuing until we graduated as seniors in the Spring of 1957, Jim and I were classmates at Community R-Vi High School. Jim and I both played trombone in the R-VI band. During our senior year, Jim and I were half of a trombone quartet which made it to state contests in Columbia. As I recall, Jim played the high notes, while I played the low notes. Two freshmen — Ken Lay and Dick Webber– were the other half of our quartet.
During the now +60 years since our graduation it has always been so much fun to reminisce about the members of the Class of 1957.
Jim was a great friend. He always had a smile no matter what was going on with him. He helped me with my parents tax return (we had to catch up many back years but we did it!) and my grandmother’s estate tax return.
I was always impressed by how many friends he had everywhere he went. He was such a people person and genuinely listened and wanted to know what was going on with you, his friend.
Our thoughts, love and prayers are with Jim’s family during this time. Although we haven’t met, I feel like we know you guys because he always talked about you so much.
