Jane Elam

Jane Elam, born Nov. 25, 1957, went home to the Lord on June 26, 2008, following a brief struggle with non-smoker’s lung cancer. After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School, Jane earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Kansas in 1980. In 1991 she married Carleton Britt Elam. Jane worked in the pharmaceutical industry managing clinical trials when she left Aventis to raise her twin boys. A loving, Christ centered wife and mother, Jane was active in the Kansas City Christian School and the O. P. Church of Christ. Her life was a rich tapestry, woven of loving relationships with friends and family, and bound with her celebrated laughter. Living life with an open heart and smile, she never missed an opportunity for adventure, for fun, for loving, for encouraging, for friendship, or for witnessing for her Father. Survivors include her husband, Britt, and sons, David Luke and Samuel Brewer of the home; parents, Jim and Doris Kreuzberger of O.P.; brother, Jim Kreuzberger of the home; sister and husband, Cindy and Daryl Craft of Lawrence; and two nieces and two nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the O. P. Church of Christ’s Journey of Faith, Kansas City Christian School, or Christian Family Services. Visitation Sunday, 6/29 from 5-7 p.m. at Overland Park Church of Christ, 13400 W. 119 St. O.P., KS. The funeral service will be Monday, 6/30, 10 a.m. also at the church.

OMG! Just now do I find this about Jane…shocking me to my core! Jane and I were close friends and co-workers back in her Chemsyn days with both of us working together. Just loved Jane! After my husband and I moved away to WI..and then NJ…every so often Jane and I would connect w/ a Christmas card. I hadn’t heard from her in several years…and OMG! , now I know why. My heart is crying right now that it just never occurred to me that something was wrong in not hearing because we’d do it only so often. My blessings to her family, husband and sons (and yes, they were the same age as my youngest daughter…Jane would baby sit for us when we had our first son, who is now 25…somewhere I have pics and should find them for you all). So sad! She was a good friend with great wit and lots of fun! 🙁

I was so sorry to hear about Jane’s passing today, 11/25/13.
A childhood friend mentioned her and I asked how she was. This is so sad.
