Jane Wilbanks, 75, left this world to be with our Lord on March 15, 2007. Mrs. Wilbanks was born on December 28, 1931 in Helena, Alabama to the late James and Susan (Stubbs) White. She was a newcomer to Columbia, Missouri, having lived most of her life on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and more recently in Cabot, Arkansas. Jane was a member of the Church of Christ and taught many Sunday School classes and many Ladies? Bible Classes. She was an active volunteer at the local schools where her children attended, serving as PTA President at three different schools and in various other capacities. She was also active in civic clubs and served as president of the Gulfport Jr. Woman?s Federated Club, Gulfport, Mississippi. Den Mother was one of her favorite offices in the Cub Scout program. She was also assistant to the Cub Master, her husband, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was interested in bowling competitively and won enough trophies to donate all the trophies needed for a Handicapped Children?s League, which she coached. She will be remembered for her loving kindness to everyone and especially for her love for her family and the Lord Jesus. She will be sorely missed by her family, her many friends, and all who knew her. Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James Edward Wilbanks; her first husband Dr. Charles E. There will be a private funeral for family in Jacksonville, Arkansas, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, where her husband is buried. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Missouri River Hospice.
I am so proud to be my aunt Janie’s niece. My cousins were very special to me growing up. We were mischievous but so good-hearted and loving. My mother shared an “all knowing” spirit with her sister. They were special to all who knew them for their confidence, ability, and faith in everything good which comes from our Lord. They were Very strong, loving, inspirational women. My prayers are for Elizabeth, as she is so young and Jimmy as he is now the responsible, loving son of 2 very special parents. I share our family history with my children and regret we are so far away physically. Please know you, Aunt Janie, and yours…Jimmy, Billy and family,Elizabeth are very much in our thoughts and prayers forever. Love Italy
