Joel will be missed by all of his family. He was a dear nephew with a kind heart and sweet spirit. He left us too young and our hearts are hurting. We love you Joel and will never forget you.
    Love,
    Aunt Mary

I miss you brother. My heart is shattered knowing I won’t see you again. I still can’t believe you’re gone. I am at peace though knowing you are in heaven with your Savior. We will think of you fondly and remember your warm spirit always. I love you.

  3. Mark Brown on January 2, 2013 at 1:57 pm

    Joel,

It’s still hard to believe you are gone.
I will always hold onto the memories and will never forget all the fun times we had hanging out together. You always made me laugh. I wish I could have seen you more. I know you are at peace now and you are with God. The flesh may disappear but the soul survives. I love you bro and I will miss you.

    Goodbye

    -Mark

We unfortunately did not know our cousin Joel very well, but are certain that he was much too young to leave this earth. Knowing he will be dearly missed by his loving family is a certainty…peace be to Joel and all those who knew and loved him.

I’ll never forget what a great human being you always were. No one will ever be able to come close to the level that you lived on. I still can’t believe I’ll never see you smile or hear your voice again. I’ll see you again someday, and I know you will be watching over all of us now. Goodbye old friend.

I worked with Joel at Prairie Village Starbucks and had the pleasure of going on a couple dates with him. He was a caring, compassionate, generous man who loved Jesus. He cared much for those around him and always treated others like they were family. This world lost a good man. Rest in the arms of your creator Joel.

I had the pleasure of working with Joel at Starbucks. He was one of the best employees I’ve ever had. He was a hard worker, never complained, put a smile on everyone’s face and made my job as a manager very enjoyable. I absolutely loved working with him. He was one of the most genuine and kind hearted people I’ve ever met. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. I will always remember and appreciate our time together. He left his memory on my heart. I pray for his family that they may find peace knowing that God just needed one of his best creations back with him in Heaven.

Joel – Thanks for being part of our lives, Nephew. Sure wish we could have seen more of each other, but I do remember the good time we all had at the Atlantic beach when you and your Dad visited us here in Virginia several years ago. After talking to you two weeks ago I was really looking forward to seeing you in Chicago. Your life was cut way too short, but as we all know, God can call any of us Home anytime. I am glad to know you are with our loved ones in Heaven, thanks to your faith and the gift Christ has offered each of us. Rest in Peace, Joel.

The peace we seek here on earth is the greatest and most perfect in Heaven. Joel has now found that peace. May God rest in the hearts of Joel’s loved ones for the comfort in which He gives.
Blessings and peace to you all.

After reading all the notes I feel like I know Joel just a little. I think we only saw him once or twice over the years. It sounds like he grew to be a kind, caring, loving young man. Most importantly he was a believer and is now rejoicing in his new home. My heart aches for you, Sherry, Steve, Aaron, and Amber. I pray God comforts you as you mourn.
