My brother and my best friend. We were the best of friends and I will always miss you-God Bless JimZ
To me he will always be Chief Zawadzki. I came aboard the USS Dewey in Jan. 1965. He was my Chief for almost 4 years. My Dad died when I was 6. Chief took a smart ass know it all kid and made me a man. He had more influence on my life than anyone. He was always there for us. At times we feared him but, we always loved him. There are a lot of men across this country that are better because of him. Good bye my friend and thanks for being in my life.
I knew my brother as Sonny, as kids back in Niagara Falls we sang together and just knew we would sing on the Major Boles Amature Hour. That’s just one memory. Miss you even though we lived so far apart, you were still my big brother. Florence
I was a member of the USS Dewey bowling team along with Chief Zawadzki. He was a good bowler and a good friend as well. Good bye Chief
I served on Dewey DLG 14 from April 66 to May 70. I new Cheif Ski very well. I lost contact with him after I informed him of the third Dewey being built. He will be missed.
