Julie Locascio, 58, died September 24, 2021 at home from cancer. Visitation services will be held at St. Mark’s Church in Independence, MO on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at 10:00. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Masks are required.
Julie was such an impressive woman. She was kind, funny, smart and generous with her time. She was flawed just like anyone but she had a good heart. She donated her time to Crossroads Hospice, Habitat for Humanity and Free Hot Soup, just to name a few. She had a positive impact on those around her. She taught her daughter Nicole financial independence and the freedom that brings. When she wasn’t applying for sainthood she loved spending time in the yard and adopting senior dogs. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly but we know she is busy rolling homemade meatballs with with her parents, Mike and Catherine in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, Julie would appreciate donations to the NICU unit at Children’s Mercy for the 20+ years she spent delivering premature and sick babies into the world.
Her daughter Nicole carries on in her memory along with Julie’s siblings, Sam, Dominc, Joe, and Jo Marie.

Julia was a sweet, kind and efficient scrub tech. I worked with her at St Luke’s East. I always enjoyed our talks.
To my cousins, Sam, Dominic, Joe and Jo Marie:
I was shocked to open up this Facebook message. I am so sorry to hear this. Since I live in Houston, TX (for 10 years now), I don’t get all of the news I should get.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the Lord keep Julie in His loving care. With love to all.
Julie was among the absolute hardest and most dedicated workers I’ve known. Only her love and concern for Nicole topped her dedication to our patients’ wellbeing! I’m sorry that she’s gone from us so soon. My heart is heavy for Julie’s family.
Our families from the 72nd & Bale’s old neighborhood were sadden to hear this. Julie and I occasionally chatted on FB about family and the rain into each other as both of us were working at same hospital. She was always giving of her time, skills and talents to many and family. May you truly feel God’s comfort as he wraps his arms around you and be uplifted by the support and love of friends and family sharing your cherish memories.
