Karen Laverne Schlag

Karen Laverne Schlag, 66, of Independence, MO passed away January 5, 2014.  She was born January 6, 1947 in Ada, Oklahoma.  She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ronsley; two sons, Chad and Eric Schlag; and two brothers, Homer Carson and Arnie Ronsley. Survivors include her husband, Lester Schlag; mother, Virginia Alberta Phillips; daughter, Anita Burnett; son, Scott Schlag; siblings, Thelma James, Ron Carson, Kenneth Ronsley, Jerry Ronsley and Kay Johnson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.  Karen greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren at family gatherings.  She also loved to play Bingo.  Karen will be greatly missed by her loving family and host of friends.  A gathering of Karen’s family and friends to celebrate her life will be held on January 14, 2014 at 15257 E. 56th  in Kansas City, MO at 2:00 pm.   In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
