Kay Lorraine Hensley, 70, of Kansas City, Mo, passed away June 23, 2022. Kay was born April 23, 1952 to James Edward (J.E.) and Virginia Lamme Boxley in Trenton, MO. They would later move to the Kansas City area. Kay graduated from Ruskin High School in 1970. She went on to attend Southwest Baptist University, Penn Valley and finished her degree at Mid-America Nazarene College. Kay spent the majority of her career working in the medical setting at Belton Family Practice and finished her career at Southland Clinics. Kay married the love of her life, Mark Hensley, on April 25, 1987. Kay mentioned that Mark would make dinner in the evenings as she worked late. Kay always wore a smile on her face. She loved giving gifts and going out to eat. She was a kind and gentle person who absolutely adored her great nephew Oliver Gordon. Kay fought hard the past 7 months but is now united with Mark and in the loving arms of Jesus.
Mark preceded her in death as well as her parents, Lamme and Boxley grandparents and father-in-law Gordon Hensley.
Kay was blessed with many family and friends who mourn her loss including her cousin Lynda (Clay) Hollingsworth, mother-in-law Carol Hensley, brothers-in-law Brad Hensley and Scott (Kim) Hensley, nieces and nephews Allison Hensley (fiancé Nathan Eckenberg), A1C Britton Hensley, Caitlin Hensley, Brandon Hahn and many more nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts Barbara Cordill, Mike (Linda) Hensley, Pat (Ronna) Hensley and Cheryl (Alan) Paxson and, dear friends Kimberly, Diane, Patty and Arletta.
We would love all family, friends and anyone who touched Kay’s heart to help us celebrate an amazing woman who had a heart of gold. A Celebration of Life for Kay will be held on July 2, 2022, at Grace Point Baptist Church, 10415 Chestnut Drive, KCMO. Service will be at 11:00am with lunch to follow.
Miss your smile
Miss your smile and laughter. You are so loved.<3
You will be missed.
My sincere condolences. She has left a legacy and had a hand in the makings of a fine airmen, Britton Hensley. I know I don’t know much and haven’t got to meet the family but I can see the amazing character they have and she had through Britton. Utmost respect, Sgt Turner.
