Ken Andrew Evans Jr II

Kenneth (Ken) Andrew Evans Jr II, 53, passed away March 25th, 2022. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, visitation from 2:00 to 3:30 PM, with a service at 3:30 pm at Heartland, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Missouri 64133. Mr. Ken Evans was born May 17, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ken was the youngest of three children and spent his childhood making memories with his family. He graduated from East High School in 1985 as an Eagle Scout and a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say. Ken welcomed his first son, Dalton, in 1994 and his second son, Drake, a few years later in 1997. Ken had several professions during his life, including being in the cable TV industry, a self-employed mechanic, a CEO of his own racing team, and most recently, working for FedEx.

Ken’s passions were numerous and filled his life with joy. Ken enjoyed spending time outdoors, specifically fishing, and listening to music while encouraging all of us to dance. His passion for music began when he played drums in his high school marching band and continued for his entire life. Ken enjoyed constantly being on the go, including riding his motorcycle any time the weather was nice enough. The greatest joy of Ken’s life was spending time with his large family, specifically the children. Ken was always able to find a way to make all the children in his life laugh and smile.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Evans Sr., his sister, Shari Capehart-Kerns, and his grandmother, Dorothy Newman. Ken is survived by his committed partner Shelly Edie, dedicated mother Susan Evans, sons, Dalton and Drake Evans, brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kaelie Capehart, grandson Jaxon Steele Evans, nephew, Parker Capehart, niece, Peyton Capehart and many other loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Kenny was one of the best man I’ve known even though our romantic relationship was a disaster we remained friends and our friendship was the best. Kenny was there for me when I was at my lowest losing my son,my mom and my grandson and I really don’t think I would of got thru any of it without him. And it makes me happy to know that he finally found his soulmate Shelly they loved each other very much and she stayed by his side until the end. She’s an amazing woman and I’m so glad he had her. Between her and his brother Chris they took better care of him then any hospital could. So goodbye my friend I will never forget you and you’ll always be in my heart. I love you Kenny

Dear Family and friends my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I met Ken over 30 years ago but hadn’t spoken to him in a few years. He was a true friend. I hear his last words to me, the last time we spoke, keep in touch he said. Wish I would have had one last time to see that amazing smile. Ken, may you dance with all the angels, may you cuddle all the children, and ohhhh Andy….never forget that Nair is only for your legs! Love you friend. Little big girl ??????
