Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Kenny Loston Prince, 74, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. Born on December 3, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio. Kenny lived a life marked by his dedication to his faith, a deep love for his family, committed to his craft, and carried it all in quiet strength.
Kenny served the United States Army in the Vietnam War as a Private. His time in uniform reflected his willingness to serve his country and contribute to something greater than himself.
A skilled contractor and mechanic by trade, Kenny had a natural talent for working with his hands. Whether under the hood of a car, building something from scratch, or making the best tasting cheese cake known by any who have been blessed to taste it. He approached every task with precision and pride. His love for cars and tinkering was more than just a hobby—it was an extension of who he was: curious, capable, and always ready to fix what needed fixing. He was a well travelled person, working in many places across the country in Ohio, Michigan, Florida, and Missouri. Always leaving a lasting positive impression and stories wherever he went.
Kenny’s personality blended confidence with humility. He had a reserved nature but carried a genuine warmth that made those around him always feeling at ease. His sense of humor brought lightness to everyday moments. His kindness left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to have known him. Hardworking and sincere, Kenny lived by example rather than words.
He was also an ordained Christian Pastor—a role that spoke to his spiritual grounding and commitment to faith. His quiet leadership and moral compass guided not only his own path but also offered strength and prayer to others.
Kenny is lovingly remembered by (his wife in the eyes of the Lord) Kristen Gibson. He will be deeply missed by his children: Shasta Prince, Michael Prince, Zackary Prince, and Rachel (Prince) Hackett; and by his grandchildren: Lyric Jones, Anastasia Duncan, Silas Hackett, Marcus Prince, Locke Hackett, and Aerith Hackett. He is also survived by his siblings: Bettie Sopher, Travis Prince, Vernon Prince, Carter Prince, and Everly Carter. Alongside many other relatives.
He now joins in rest with his parents James W. Prince and Veader Prince; siblings Seth Prince, Nettie Mae Prince, and Charles Prince; as well as his grandsons Darnell Prince and Jibriel Alan.
May Kenny Loston Prince’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire through the legacy he leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Heartland Baptist Church 400 SW Lake Village Blvd Blue Springs, MO 64014.
Kenny was a wonderful caring man. He was always worried for others. He is deeply missed. I will miss you my dear friend but I will see you again.
May my sons know a man as great as I did. One who always looked out for you, cared and even when his hands were full found a way to help you. God thank you for putting this man in my journey of life.
