Kevin Eugene Copeland

A much anticipated baby, little Kevin Eugene was welcomed into the Copeland family on 4 Nov 1959.  With a sweet disposition, stunning smile and mischievous behavior, Kevin grew up in Independence and graduated Van Horn High School in 1977.  Intensely loyal to Mizzou and his fraternity Phi Kappa Psi, he held a BS in Business Administration (’81).

An engaging extrovert, Kevin thoroughly enjoyed people.  He was a natural for his work in sales management for numerous Fortune 500 companies including Monsanto, Morton International, and Energizer.  He co-founded his own company; ChefAndKitchen.com and Chef & Kitchen at amazon.com.

Starting in college and continuing throughout his life, he lived his passion for politics through activity in the Republican Party, both statewide and at a national level.

He married the love of his life in 2003 at The Church of St Michael and St George in St Louis.  Later moving to Kansas City, Kevin and Beth were blessed by a marriage of incredible love.  They were inseparable best friends and lovers who spoiled each other, had fun and shared a zest for life.

Together, they lived a life of faith as part of St Andrews Episcopal Church.  Kevin served on the vestry, finance and endowment committees, as a lay Eucharistic minister and belonged to The Order of St Luke.   Much to his delight, Kevin’s company sponsored the Holey Open Golf Tournament to support the youth center for community outreach at St Andrew’s.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife Beth, “s’daughter” Alix, sister Nancy (Gary), a large loving extended family, and many friends.  Donations can be made to St Andrews Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri and Phi Kappa Psi Columbia, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, corner of Wornall Road and Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64113.
