Kimberly Marie Long passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6th, 2023 at the age of 65. She was born May 15th, 1957 in Casper, WY to Virginia and William “Bill” Black.
Kimberly, known to those close to her as Kim or Kimmy, was raised in Tulsa, OK where she met her husband, Steven, and started her own family. In October of 2022, Kim moved to Overland Park, KS to receive care close to her daughter. Kimmy worked for 25 years as a Senior VP of Loans for the Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa. Following that career, she stayed home to raise her two children. She was a natural caregiver and often used her talents to care for her aging parents and in-laws. Kim loved gardening in her yard, she was happiest at celebrations with her family and watching her favorite shows with her husband, Steven. She will be remembered by her loud laugh, sense of humor and her love for her family.
Kim is preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Brandon Black and her husband of almost 30 years, Steven Long. She is survived by her two children, David Long and Virginia “Ginna” Hampton (Kyle), her granddaughter, Hallie Hampton, her three siblings, Karen Brown (Don), Kathy Black and Grant Black (Joyce), her niece, Stephanie Cummings and nephew, Nicholas Brown.
