Mary Elizabeth Medlock

Mary Elizabeth Medlock (nee Nolte), 67, of Holliday Missouri, passed away on January 2, 2022.

Mary was born on October 20, 1954, to Robert C. Nolte and Patricia K. Nolte in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Cor Jesu Academy in 1973, she went on to work at the family-owned electrical contracting business until 2001 and continued to work in the industry until her retirement in 2012.

In 1984, she met James L Medlock Sr., and they wed in 1985. They went on to have three children, Patty, James, and Katie. Mary was a dedicated mom to her kids; family came first above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Mary was preceded in death by her father Robert C. Nolte, mother Patricia K. Nolte, father-in-law John L. Medlock, and mother-in-law Joyce N. Medlock.

She is survived by her husband James L. Medlock, Sr. of Holliday, MO, daughter Patty Beahan (Sean) of Columbia, MO, son James L. Medlock Jr. (Sarah) of Shelbina, MO, daughter Katie Waltemath (Buddy) of House Springs MO, stepson, Jeremy Medlock (Crystal) and her grandchildren, her brother Robert P. Nolte (Joann), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary’s name to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) donate.nami.org. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future if a service is scheduled.

Mary and I had lots of good times when we were at the Landing and she and her family had a condo there. We became good friends. Mary was a great person, who you never had to wonder what was on her mind, just ask her and she was glad to tell you. She loved her family and her friends. She will be missed dearly.

I was saddened to hear of Marys passing. I have many fond memories of Christmas & Easter brunch at grandma & grandpa Pats with the cooking prepared by grandma & Mary. Treasure your memories and she’ll always be with you all.

Mary’s smile and laughter were infectious. She was kind, compassionate, tenacious, and strong. She loved her family tremendously and would light up when talking about her loved ones (especially her grandchildren). To those grieving, may God give you strength and comfort though this difficult time. Godspeed, Mary. Fly high.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of our cousin (who we called MaryBeth growing up), Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. We grew up with Mary and her Brother so our memories take us way back. We always had a great time spending holiday dinners, and always 4th of July at Iron Mountain Lake. Mary and I had recently reconnected via Facebook where I saw her beautiful family. As is life, wish we hadn’t lost touch or had communicated more. I am saddened by her loss but take comfort as she joins a lot of family who welcomes her home. May memories ease your pain yet bring you warmth and joy for having her in your life.

I just saw that Mary had passed. I went to grade school with Mary, and we are currently planning our 50th reunion from Cor Jesu. So many of us hoped to reconnect with Mary. It sounds like she had a good life and was blessed with a loving family. On behalf of the CJA class of 1973, please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss.
