Michael Blake, 55, of Columbia died March 9, 2016 at his home. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 616 Jackson St., Columbia, MO 65203. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. His cremains will be placed at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville at a later time. Michael is survived by his wife Cindy of the home, his father Ronald Blake of Holts Summit, his brother, Ricky Blake of Boonville, MO as well as numerous other family members who will miss him.
Michael “Mick” meant the world to me and my children, Erik Blessman and Christy Short while he was in our lives. Christy was especially close to Mick, and always thought of him as her “dad”. We still smile and laugh at the fun and funny times we shared, and will always hold him dear to our hearts.
I send my love to his father, Ron and brother, Rick as well as to Stephanie.
I send heartfelt appreciation and condolences to his wife, Cindy who I never met. It gave me comfort knowing you were there for him through the tough times. You are a saint. May your times of grief be lessened with good memories shared. God bless.

My sincere condolences Ricky and all those that loved Mick. I was in his very young life 1977-1987. I loved the entire family once upon a time. It saddens me to know his life ended so young. May your memories bring you comfort.
