Mike Janner, 60, of Cleveland, MO, passed away on July 10, 2010. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, at St. Sabina in Belton, MO, followed by a mass at 11 a.m. celebrating his life. Cremation. Mike was born in Kansas City, MO, to Ed and Juanita Janner and grew up in Raytown, attending Raytown schools. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Kittyhawk. He worked at many jobs, with his last 18 years as a carpenter at Children’s Mercy Hospital. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and St. Sabina Catholic Church. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Janner; daughters Saskia (James) Craig, Sky Janner (Jeremy Buletti) and Kelly (Cody) Jordan; grandchildren Sydney Craig, Sunshine Bulletti, Layla Buletti and Lennon Jordan; and brother James (Donna) Janner. Mike was especially grateful to his beautiful wife Lisa, as well as Kelly and Cody Jordan for being by his side and helping him in every way through his illness. He was thankful for the gift of his grandson, Lennon, who is nearly six months old. He was also appreciative of Liz and Jeff Marr, Susan and Bill Ford, Pat and Bill Ford, Jacquay and Butch Kueser, Kelly and Mark Scharosch, Francile and Harold Hill, Fr. Mike Mulhern, Fr. Chuck Tobin, the staff of Children’s Mercy hospital and the fourth floor staff of KU Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to KU Medical Center, Children’s Mercy Hospital, or Kansas City Hospice. “I am truly blessed to have all of my family and friends around me.”
