Naomi G. Schultz Turner, age 79, a resident of Ravenwood Terrace in Moberly, Missouri, passed away at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on May 27, 2019.
Heartland Cremation performed the cremation as Naomi had requested.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Roscoe Turner was born Naomi G. Lorton in Moberly to her late parents, Robert C. Lorton and Ada E. Kirkendoll Lorton in a large family of seven siblings. The only sibling now surviving is her younger sister, Retha May Lorton of Moberly.
Naomi worked as a teacher’s aid and in bookkeeping/accounting most of her life. Her most important work was being a mother to her four children of her first marriage to Bob Schultz: Donna Marie Schultz of Columbia, Chris Howard Schultz of San Antonio, Texas, Steven Leroy Schultz of Olney, Illinois and Shirley Jeanette Elad-Perkins of South Bend, Indiana. She was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt of many children born into her family.
Naomi’s husband and love of her life, Roscoe Earl Turner of Moberly Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and countless family members and friends.
Memorial contributions are suggested to True North of Columbia, a comprehensive domestic and sexual violence victim service program.
My heart goes out to you as you grieve Naomi’s passing. I pray you will find comfort in God’s love and care.
What a dear friend she was. I am 90 yrs. old but she was very welcoming when I joined the little group at VFW many times. She and Pat Harms were very close and spent many hours crocheting those beautiful afghans. They also took me for rides through the country and had me “lost” most of the time. R.I.P, dear Naomi.
