Patricia Pauline Collins Pfaffly

Patricia Pauline Collins Pfaffly of Lake Winnebago, MO passed at home Saturday, June 15, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Olive Branch Cemetery, White Cloud, Kansas with dinner following at the American Legion Hall, White Cloud, KS. Patricia was born November 24, 1933, in Sparks, KS.

Patricia was the second eldest of 17 children. She carried with her a deep-seated nurturing spirit, particularly evident in her love for children. She embraced her roles as a devoted wife (often humorously remarking, “Dean made more messes than I could clean up”), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law with steadfast love and practical wisdom. On September 1, 1951, Patricia married Dean Edward Pfaffly in White Cloud, Kansas, and together they established their home in Kansas City, Missouri, where they lovingly raised their three children, Linda Sue, Dean (Pete) Jr., and Melissa Ann in the Chelsea house. In May 2023, she moved from the Chelsea house to the Lake Winnebago, Missouri, with her daughter Melissa and husband Tom; and we continued our cherished tradition of Sunday dinner gatherings at the table. Patricia was renowned for her pragmatic personality and cherished as the rock of our family, admired for her unwavering presence and dependable nature, she was a family historian and loved to share her memories with her sisters.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Dean Pfaffly and her daughter, Linda Sue Wilper; her parents and siblings Barbara Edie, Jan Stonebarger, Sue Hall, David, Denny, Butch, Leonard and Bill Collins. Many are left to cherish her memory, including her son Pete and Barbara Pfaffly, daughter Melissa and Tom Grinlinton, seven grandchildren – Wayne (Holly), Kerry (Mike), Joseph (Sara), Sherry (Brian), Terry (Josh), Lauren (Shelby), and Sara (Joey); eleven great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emmalyn, Eland, Mason, Miles, Georgia, Cole, Lea, Elizabeth and Dean; siblings – Margaret Brassfield, Kathy Campbell, Anita Rounds and brothers, Ricky, Ed, Randy, Dan, and Tim Collins; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Patricia’s legacy of love, practical wisdom, and devotion to family will forever inspire those who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Memory of Patricia Pfaffly to the Olive Branch Cemetery, PO Box 36, White Cloud, KS. 66094

She is with Dean and Linda now and I would have loved to have seen that reunion. We will all meet again when it’s our time and it will be glorious! Big hugs to the kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
