Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
– 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
P.S. Love is never on time.
-Raymond O’Neal.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I was able to be there.
Reared by his paternal grandparents, Buddy O’Neal grew up next door to me in Weir City, KS.
I’ve worried about him for 60 years; always wondered how his life turned out and hoped that, finally, he found the love and joy in living he never knew as a child…
When a collateral relative finally gave me his phone # a year or so ago, I tried several times to call him, but always failed. I finally concluded he didn’t want to be reminded of his childhood — and for that, I couldn’t blame him.
But you should know, my little neighbor, that my heart went out to the sad little boy next door. Always!!
I do so hope that you eventually found love and happiness.
God bless and keep your spirit!
Until we meet again…
Your neighbor,
Murlin Gene

Dad, thanks for raising me, you were a good man. I’ll miss you, may God please take care of you wherever you go, I hope the universe is big enough that we can all be together again. I will always love you.

I know many stepchildren and stepparents who don’t get along, but Ray was the best stepdad I could have ever asked for. He made it very clear from the first day I met him that he wasn’t trying to replace my dad, but he still considered me one of his own children – and I came to consider him a real father to me. It may be difficult to believe, but I have absolutely no negative memories of him. He is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Watching him interact with my daughter has made the past three years unbelievably special for me and her. I will make sure my daughter’s memory of her beloved papa is never lost. Ray not only enriched my and my daughter’s lives, but he also took care of my mom and made her incredibly happy for many, many years. I love you, Ray, and I will miss you dearly. I am a better person because I knew you.

Dear Family,
I am an Weir Alumni and Raymond or Buddy as we called was a few years younger than myself. But we all were all in the same buliding so it didn’t matter. He was a very nice young man as I remember and I know you will miss him very much! My Best to you and your
Family. We will honor him at our Banquet in September by lighting a candle for him! So sorry for you loss! Best Regards! Nancy (Carr) Forbes, Weir Alumni
