Richard “Dale” Burriss, aged 85, of Columbia Missouri was taken home on the wings of angels on June 2nd 2023. He passed due to health conditions he had battled for many years. Take peace in knowing that his final moments were in loving company. The celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church on 411 N Macon St. in Bevier, MO 63532, at 12pm.
Dale was born in Denver Colorado on 5/21/1938 to John Wesley and Melba Dehaven. In his first marriage to Virginia Adams he fathered two children – Richard Dale Burriss II, to whom gave him his grandchildren Rodrigo Burriss, and Richard Dale Burriss III; and Crystal Linn Burriss, to whom gave him his grandchild; Jermi Jennings. In his marriage of 40 years to Rosemary Burriss, Dale was stepfather to Paul Leon, Sharon Riojas, and Laurie Maestas. Dale and Rosemary also adopted Kaitlyn Burriss to whom gave him his grandchild Bowen Sanders.
Dale was a maintenance man who didn’t come across too much he couldn’t fix. He was a jack of all trades, he was many things; from rodeo to construction, all the way to the farm where he planted seeds in Bevier, Mo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching things grow – be it baby animals, plants, or kiddos, he had a love for everything. His pride in his lifetime was his farm and the child he took on as his own, Kaitlyn Burriss, who he poured his whole being into raising. Dale was a sentimental man to whom family was of the utmost importance.
Richard “Dale” Burriss leaves behind big boots to fill, but he will forever fill our hearts with his loving and giving nature.
Forever missed, forever loved, never forgotten.
