Bob was born on May 29, 1935in Clinton Missouri to Flossie May and Clyde Tope. Bob’s first job was sweeping the school floor where he saved enough money to purchase a bicycle, yet he often told his children that he walked to school. Eventually he became a small business owner including T&M vending. He often said he was a “stamp man, born and bred”.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and George, sisters Edna Cameron, Sue Province, and wife Alice Ruth Tope, mother of their two sons.
Bob is survived by wife Lois Tope, sons Michael Tope and wife Patricia, and Randall Tope and wife Karen, sister Pauline Houk, grandchildren Matthew and wife Hannah, Joel, Rachel and husband Josh, Noelle Tope, and great-grandchildren Mandee and Gideon Tope.
Bob especially enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, sons, all of their families, and his many friends. Bob was truly a loyal fan of his beloved Kansas City Royals, both in their glory years and in their many years of tremendous struggle. He often vacationed with Lois in beautiful Branson MO, mesmerized by the antics of Stub Meadows and Droopy Drawers.
We will never forget that twinkle in his eye.
We were so blessed to have called Bob our friend and our brother from another mother. He was very intelligent, funny, had a fantastic memory and an answer for every question. Part of our hearts went with him when he was called home. All is well, dear friend.
