Scott Duane Howell

Scott Duane Howell, 81, Independence, Missouri passed away May 29, 2014.  A visitation will be held Saturday June 7, 2014 at 1:30 pm at River Blvd Baptist Church, 3212 N. River Blvd. Independence, Missouri, with a celebration service at 3:00 pm.  Scott was a loving husband for 56 years, and a loving father for 54 years.  He worked at AT&T for 27 years, retiring in 1988.  Scott was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1950 to 1954.  He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 282 and Mic-O-Say, named Sachem Big Bright Golden Beehive.  Scott was preceded in death by his mother and step-father; Ophelia & Delbert Schenck; and brother, Roscoe Howell.  Survivors include his wife, Joann Howell; son, Scott Howell, Jr. (Stacy); daughter, Elizabeth Raveill (Michael); grandchildren, Scott, III and Adam Howell and Ashley and Michaela Raveill; and brother, Lewis Howell. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 282, 409 N. Liberty, Independence, Missouri.

    Big Bright Golden Beehive! How appropriate. His life and winning smile were certainly that. He will be missed greatly. Praying that God will be your ever present help and comfort. He is faithful. I will always remember his smile and welcome at his grand daughters parties. He was truly a gentleman.
