Sharon Rae Heskett (Winkler)

Sharon Rae Heskett (Winkler), aged 76, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 at Hillside Village in De Soto, Kansas.

Born on March 26, 1949 in Iowa City, Iowa, Sharon was the daughter of the late Pearl and Louis Winkler.

Sharon was a mother, grandmother, and friend. After graduating from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa. She served as a pharmacist throughout Iowa, Illinois, and North Carolina. Sharon was a dutiful mother to her three daughters. She had the joy of watching them grow into successful women with families of their own. Her love of reading and spending time outdoors lead her to meet a variety of people throughout her life.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Louis Winkler, her brothers Kenneth and Duane, and her sisters Donna, Mary Lea, Nola, and Dorothy.

Sharon is survived by her daughters Malinda Spangler (Scott) of De Soto, KS, Amy Manley (Stephen) of Statesboro, GA, and Kelli Campbell (Dale) of Lone Tree, IA; her sisters Beverly Myers of Davenport, IA and Caryl Ploen (Jim) of Buda, TX, seven grandsons, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sharon was a private person in life and requested the same after her death. A private interment will be held at a later date at Memorial Gardens in Davenport, Iowa.

An avid supporter of our American Armed Forces and its Veterans, it is asked that donations be sent to Veterans Community Project (https://vcp.org) in lieu of flowers.

I also worked with Sharon at value RX. She was a very private woman, but I managed to get a ton of smiles out of her. She will fly high in heaven.
