Sheri Nolan Wells

Sheri Nolan Wells, 59, Raytown, Mo passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2018 in Pennsylvania. A memorial gathering will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo 64133. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Veterans Community Project, https://www.veteranscommunityproject.org/

There were many chapters in Sheri’s book of life, it began on April 24, 1958 in Tulsa, OK, when she was welcomed into the world. She discovered her love of travel at a very early age which led to adventures in Hawaii, Mexico, Ireland and many more points across the continental United States. She made the Kansas City area her home and raised her family here. No matter where she was, and for how long she stayed, she never met a stranger. She turned cherished memories into lifetime connections and reconnections! She brought light into all situations and made the world a better and happier place. Family was a top priority and she cherished time spent with her beloved children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother Louella, her children; Jen (Jeremy), Becky and Chris, her grandchildren Jacob and Daniel, her siblings; Cathy, Patti and Mike and a host of extended family and friends.

She devoted her life to serving others including government, union and nursing. Most recently she combined her love of travel with her love of service with the Veterans Administration Travel Nurse Corp.

When we were much younger, Sheri and I danced–well I danced while she stood on my feet, to the tune of “Sisters” from the movie “White Christmas.” She danced to the tune of many different drummers in her life and left numerous footprints on our hearts. My soul is hurting for the sorrow we share at Sheri’s passing. Love ya baby sis–keep on dancing!!

Thank you so very much for sharing your mom with Larry and I. We loved her more than she could have possibly known. We made so many precious memories in just this last little bit of time we had reconnected, but it was truly like we had never been apart at all. I cherish those memories and love the family she allowed me to become a part of.

Where to begin? Elementary School in Tulsa? Where you were so wise, already. You harassed me, entertained me, stimulated my thoughts, daily. You’ve been in my heart since those days. Love you, my dear friend. I could recall so much more. You love your family so much! It’s beautiful. You were my soulmate. Who is this for? Who would understand? You.

I had the pleasure of being Sheri’s CNA Instructor. She was such a caring and compassionate person. I was so proud of her and her accomplishments and how far she had taken her nursing career. I ran back into her when she was the nurse assigned for my fathers care at KCVA. She put my mind at ease knowing he was in good hands for his care. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to Sheri and her family.
