Shirley Jean Nootbaar, 70, of LaPlata, MO passed away February 15, 2014 at Landmark Hospital. Shirley was born on January 18, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Norbert and Alice (Syverson) Kappes. She is survived by many loving friends and family members.

You were a wonderful and loving woman who accepted me into tour family and no matter what you were still and always will be ma to me. The kids miss you and love you and know you are looking down watching over them. I love you ma and we will see each other again.

If I could have just one more day with you. I would hold you in my arms the time and really let you know just how much I LOVE YOU and how much you mean to me. For my whole life you have been my mother and my best friend for as long as I can remember. Mom there is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss you and think of all the last days that we spent together. Mom I am having a hard time coming to terms with what I did to you on the hardest day of my life that February day and I know it’s what you would’ve wanted but in the same sense I feel that I took your life and I just cant forgive myself. Just know this I Will Always Love You and miss more than anything! !!!!!! Just wanted you to know this that I’m selfish and if not for the kids….I would come to you being as I know you cant be here. I don’t know what to do or how to live without my best friend, confidant, and mostly my beloved mother. MOM you are loved and missed by many friends and family.
