Steve Conley Sr

With profound respect and deep reverence, we celebrate the life of Steve Conley, Sr., who passed away at the age of 67. Born on April 29, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Vernon and Leanna Conley, Steve was the fourth child of their union. His journey was one filled with love, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Steve graduated from Crane High School in Chicago, Illinois, and pursued a career as a certified HVAC technician, also devoting his skills to remodeling homes. His hands were gifted with the ability to build and repair, reflecting his steadfast work ethic and passion for helping others. Steve’s faith in God was a cornerstone of his life, and he accepted Christ at a young age, later being baptized as a testament to his devotion.

Steve found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with family and friends, making those around him smile with his warm presence. His passions included fishing, attending church, praise dancing, and traveling, and he was known for his expertise in repairing cars. Steve’s love for spades and Chicago Bopping brought him joy and laughter, but his legacy as “the best cook in the world” remains cherished by all who had the pleasure of tasting his meals. Above all, Steve was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, cousin, and friend, whose heart was as boundless as his generosity.

Preceding Steve in death were his beloved paternal grandparents, Henriette and Samuel Conley; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Sally Wright; his parents, Vernon and Leanna Conley; his cherished daughter, Callie Haggard; and his parents-in-law, Rosie and Emerson Smith.

Steve leaves behind a lifetime of memories and love to his devoted wife, Annette Conley; his sister, Peggy Conley; his daughters, Tasha Smith (Raymond), Tiffanie Conley, and Christin Carter (D.C.); his sons, Clem Cunningham (Heather) and Steve Conley, Jr. (Mary); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Steve Conley, Sr. will be remembered for his love, laughter, and the beautiful spirit he shared with the world. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
