Suzanne Greenwood

Suzanne Greenwood, 67, of Chillicothe, MO passed away July 28, 2023 at Saint Luke’s North Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, September 15, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, MO. Visitation will be held at 12:45pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the YMCA, Chillicothe, MO.

Suzanne was born October 1, 1955 in Brookfield, MO. She was a 1973 graduate of Chillicothe High School and went on to obtain her nursing degree from Trenton Junior College and graduated in 1975. She was united in marriage to Dennis R. Greenwood on February 15, 1986 and was previously married to Fred Rice from August 9, 1975 until 1985. Suzanne was passionate about helping others, working as a nurse for the entirety of her career. The majority of her career was spent with Boone Hospital Center in Columbia and lastly with University of Missouri’s Columbia Surgical Associates. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, sewing and quilting, and planting/maintaining flowers.

She was preceded in death by: husband, Dennis R. Greenwood on November 22, 2007; father, Vernon E. Prewitt on January 17, 2000; and mother, Betty D. Prewitt on March 27, 2019.

Survivors include: son, Adam T. Rice and wife Haley of Rolla, MO; two grandchildren, Anaya Rice and Maddox Mears; sister, Sondra Skipper and husband Larry of Chillicothe, MO; brother, John Prewitt and wife Shelly of Chillicothe, IL; brother, James Prewitt and wife Patty of Taylor, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
