Terry Lee Roberts

Terry’s life began on February 15, 1943, in Kansas City.  After graduating from Northeast High School, he received a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City and made his career as an Accounting Controller at various companies in the Kansas City metro area.  After retirement, he turned his passions for math and gambling into a second career at Harrah’s Kansas City Casino.

Married to Carla Ann Wilkens for 43 years, Terry took great joy in his family, including daughters Deborah (Keith) Webber of Overland Park, and Michelle (Michael) Lucero of Lenexa; along with grandchildren Adam (Adrienne) Lucero of Kansas City, Colin Webber of Overland Park, and Emma Webber of San Diego, California.

Known as Grandpa Terry or GT to many, he enjoyed travelling, collecting sports memorabilia, going to the movies, listening to Eric Clapton and live music, eating ice cream, cheering for his beloved Missouri Tigers and rarely missed a Royals game all the way to the end.

Terry passed away July 18, 2024, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Cliff and Fern (Slankard) Roberts and brother Ron Roberts.

Terry’s family will gather at one of his favorite places, Seaside Seabird Sanctuary in Clearwater, Florida, for a remembrance of his life and dedication of his everlasting gift to this organization that he frequently visited and thoroughly enjoyed.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to this organization in Terry’s memory, https://seasideseabirdsanctuary.org/donate.

Mr. Roberts lit up our lobby every day throughout his numerous stays at our property. He would love to have his drink in his hand and sit in the lobby to have casual conversations with our team. He will be missed and our deepest condolences to Carla and your family.

    May he rest in peace.

    Big Hugs,
    Your HGV South Beach family
