Thomas Adair

Thomas William Adair, Jr., age 79, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on August 9, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Thomas and Lucy (Donley) Adair.

Tom joined the Navy in 1965 and served on the USS Independence during the Vietnam war. He earned the Bronze Star and National Defense Service Medal. Tom worked security for 10 years after leaving the Navy and worked his way up to Captain. He then began his lifelong career as an over the road truck driver. Working for both K-mart and Earp Meats (McDonald’s). Tom lived his entire life in the Kansas City area. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching NASCAR. Tom suffered from heart disease for the last 20+ years. He suffered a stroke in 2023 and had been battling the effects since.

Thomas was preceded in death by Parents: Thomas W Adair and Lucille Donley Manny Saunders (brother) Bill Adair (brother), Devon Danner (grandson).

He is survived by Hazel Adair (wife), Christina Danner (daughter), Scott Adair and Shawn Adair (sons), Danny Saunders (brother), Darlene Orender (sister), Ida Sutherland (sister), Grandchildren: Delaney Danner, Hunter Adair, Mason Adair, Ysabella Adair.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2pm to 4 pm Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Mary Ann Flunder Lodge by the Lake at KCKCC, 7250 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66112.
