Vera Frances Price

Loving Memory of Vera Frances Price

Vera Frances Price passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on June 18th, at 8:35am, after a long and courageous battle with her health. She did not fear death, for she carried within her the strength, wisdom, and grace to know it was her time to be called home.

Vera lived an extraordinary life. She shared over 40 beautiful years with the love of her life, Dennis L. Carman. Together, they built a life full of laughter, resilience, and deep love.

If you ever wondered what Vera was thinking, you didn’t have to wonder for long—she’d tell you exactly how it was. Her honesty was sharp and unfiltered, but it was always wrapped in love, especially for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a fiercely devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a loving great-grandmother.

Vera was a friend to many, and as long as she had a home, so did half of Kansas City. Her door—and her heart—were always open.

She is survived by her mother Peggy Price her four sisters Brenda , Deanna, Juanita, Molly also her three children and their partners: Dennis W. Carman and Rachel Wilson Porter, Julie A. Carman and Nick Rose, and Heather N. Carman and Matthew Venegas. She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Margo Christopher, Gavin Carman, Dalton Nelson, Brooklyn Nelson, Matthew Venegas, Serenity Venegas, Faith Carman, Mason Carman, and Kloey Venegas. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved profoundly.

Vera was preceded in death by her father Bill Price, brother Billy Wayne Price, sister Taryn Hicks, grandson Landon, and the love of her life, Dennis.

As we remember Vera, we hope to do so not with sadness, but with joy and gratitude for the beautiful memories she gifted us. Her spirit lives on in every story shared, passing along the advice she passed down, and every act of strength and compassion we carry forward.
