William Charles Lonberger Jr., 80, of Greentop MO, passed away on Sunday May 14th, 2023 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. Born April 28th in Waterloo, IA, the son of William Charles Lonberger and Mary Frances Jones, Junior attended Olive Hill School up until his high school years when he attended Greentop High School and graduated in 1960. In 1967 he was drafted and served in the Army and Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Junior grew up on the family dairy farm in Willmathsville, MO. He spent many years driving semi-tractor trailers for numerous companies as well as for himself. He also farmed with the family, as well as himself for many years. In 1986 he began working for Novinger Farms and did so up until his retirement in 2022. He could run a dozer and build a terrace better than most.
Junior is survived by his three children: Todd (Paula) Klingaman of Nevada, MO; Trudi (Scott) Groseclose of Laplata, MO; Roger (Jamie) Lonberger of Greentop, MO. Grandchildren: Heather Stone; Johnathan Klingaman; Laci Stewart; Brittany Winslow; Trey Russell; Tierney Lonberger; and Gunner Lonberger; as well as 14 great grandchildren; and one uncle, Howard (Donna) Lee of Greentop MO.
Junior was a fun loving guy with a strong opinion. He enjoyed a good coyote hunt, a cold Coors Light, a Camel cigarette, a shade tree, checking cows, and being on the farm with his son. He worked hard and played hard, living life to the fullest. He made many lifelong friends. He also enjoyed a good debate, especially with his friend Doug Hill.
It was Juniors wishes to be cremated and have his ashes spread over the family farm. He also wanted all his friends and family to gather for a celebration, which will be held at a later date.
Saddened to hear of Junior passing. Loved his obit, sounds like a Lonberger and I’ve always been proud to be one. I’m sure he will be missed
There were a few times that Chris would be out of town and Jr. would drive up while he was on his “rounds”! Just to make sure I was ok and didn’t need anything.
He was a sweetheart type of guy to my family, we already miss him.
I’m so sorry to hear if Jr’s passing. He was a good good guy and will be missed by many. Had lots of good times playing shuffleboard with him! Im sure there’s an unlimited supply of cold Coors Light being saved for him in Heaven.
We love your family! We are praying for peace and joy through this painful season.

Prayers and hugs
I am so sorry for your loss, Trudi. Sending my prayers and sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Dad.
Trudy and family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Jr. was definitely a one of a kind kind of guy. When Bill was ill Jr. would stop by and they would sit out on the deck and “catch up” for hours. Bill always enjoyed those times.
My prayers go out to all of you. Losing someone you love is never easy.
Trudi. Lester and I both send our prayers and condolences. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
My heartfelt sympathies!! May the Lord Bless and keep your family in His care, now and always!! He was a great guy, and friend!! R.I.P.
