William “David” Conner

William “David” Conner of Hartsburg passed away at The Neighborhoods on July 19, 2023. David was born in Miller County on May 19, 1949 to William E.& Mary B. Kidwell of Eldon MO. David was a 1969 graduate of School of the Osage. He was drafted into the army serving in Vietnam as a heavy equipment operator. David worked as a truck driver most of his adult life.

On December 14, 1975, he married Thelma Helms in Jefferson City MO, and she survives at the home. In addition to his wife of 47 years Thelma Helms Conner David is survived by one daughter Angela Thompson (Stewart Stanner) of Columbia MO, one son Michael Conner (Carrie Maines Zaharoolis} of Ashland MO, one stepson James Kinworthy (Julie Kinworthy) of Columbia MO, one half-sister & brother-in-law Earl & Joyce Madeley of Montgomery TX, four grandchildren: Rafe Kinworthy, Sarah Thompson both of Columbia MO; Caleb & Lila Conner of Ashland MO. One sister-in law & brother-In-law Brenda & Gene Miller of Louisiana MO.

David was preceded in death by his father William E. Conner, his mother Mary B. Kidwell, his father & mother-in-law Marvin & Lucy Helms, one brother-in-law James “Gene” Helms, one sister Linda Conner.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 12, 2023, from 12 to 3 pm at the Hartsburg American Legion Post. With a graveside service to follow in Vienna MO at a later date with full Military Honors.
